Second Skin Bandage, What is it?

A nice product but not for everyone.
Second skin bandages is a relatively new-ish way of healing tattoos. Basically it's a very thin clear bandage that sticks to your skin and creates a barrier between the fresh tattoo and the outside world. It's convenient because you can wear it between 1-4 days.
1) It is water-resistant (not waterproof–so no swimming with it); you can shower normally while wearing it.
2) It's convenient if you have pets, it keeps pet hair away from your fresh tattoo.
3) You don't have to worry about your sheets getting stained (mostly).
4) Wear it during work without having to stress about washing it during a busy day.
It's not for everyone but it does gain favorable results due to the easiness of wearing it while your tattoo is healing. There are many companies that now produce second skin bandages for tattoos but not all are made the same.
I have seen clients wear them and all of a sudden can become allergic to the adhesive. This is more rare occurance but not impossible. Don't worry! it doesn't ruin the tattoo but instead creates a reaction along the perimeter of the bandage. I would avoid second skin bandages if you are sensitive to bandages, latex, or any tape.
I am always happy to discuss which bandage (second skin vs. cling wrap) would be good for you during our tattoo appointment.
