Hi!
My name is Jara Nez (pronounced as "Jair-rah") and I tattoo! I'm from the Diné reservation (Cameron to be specific) and I reside in Flagstaff with my husband and dog. I attended Northern Arizona University and graduated with a bachelors degree in Visual Communications. I also loved taking all the art studio and art history classes.
I currently work at Mirror Gallery as a tattoo artist (also the place where I entered my tattoo apprenticeship many years ago!). I love tattooing and feel so grateful that this my career.
I specialize in a lot of illustrative black and grey style, mostly tattooing the beauty of Northern Arizona nature. I am always inspired by the surrounding forest and desert plants, wildlife, and the magic of the natural elements. I also enjoy color projects , whimsy creatures, spooky storytelling, ornamental adornments, southwest culture, and many more!
When I am not tattooing, I enjoy going camping with my husband Alec and our cutie spotted pitbull Ginger. We try to take advantage of our beautiful mountain town by fishing, paddle boarding, and hanging with our wonderful friends. Occasionally (if I have time) I like to casually garden, make art, or maybe take on a design project.
I love my Flagstaff community and feel so grateful I can tattoo in this magical place, surround by mountains, canyons, and the shooting stars.

I love Halloween so much that I got married on Halloween to the love of my life, Alec. My #1 supporter and truly my best friend (sappy, I know).
